The Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) is an assessment of reading competency, which has monitored trends in the performance of students in a five-year interval in countries around the world since 2001. The International Civic and Citizenship Education Study (ICCS) is a Project form the International Association for the Evaluation of Academic Achievement (IEA) whose aim is to investigate different ways in which the youth are prepared to assume their roles as citizens. Its main objective is to determine the extent to which the students of 15 years of age, regardless of the grade they are enrolled in, have acquired essential knowledge and competences to address the challenges of adult life. TALIS video study seeks to obtain information on teaching methodologies and practices from high-school students with the aim of understanding how efficient are their teaching practices in the classroom.
